May: Cooling Mint Fennel Tea

As temperatures rise, digestion can become sensitive. This tea gently cools while supporting healthy digestion.

Tea Recipe

1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp fresh or dried mint
½ tsp coriander seeds
2 cups hot water
Steep 5–7 minutes, then strain into your cup and enjoy!

Benefits of the Herbs and Spices

Mint cools the body and refreshes the mind. It can help relieve headaches and support digestion.  Fennel reduces bloating and gas. It is often used in Western herbalism for digestive comfort and to ease cramping.  Coriander helps cool the body and supports detoxification. It is also known to help reduce inflammation.

Dosha Benefits

This tea is ideal for Pitta, which increases as the weather warms. It helps reduce heat, irritability, and acid digestion.  It also benefits Kapha by lightening digestion without adding heaviness.  For Vata, it is gentle and safe, especially when consumed warm rather than iced.
